Episode 1201: Creator, Producer, Performer - Bonnie He, A Terrible Show for Terrible People

PODCAST VERSION

Episode 1201: Creator, Producer, Performer - Bonnie He, A Terrible Show for Terrible People

Welcome to the first episode of The Chris Collins Show Season 12, A Terrible Show for Terrible People. No, wait… that’s the title of our Just Talking guest; Actress, Writer, Performer — Bonnie He’s new theater performance! Summer 2022 has been blowing up; Russia’s launching missiles at the Ukraine, China censors Dumbledore’s love for a male wizard and Amber Heard is shitting on Johnny Depp’s bed for 10 million. Motionless in White drops their new album titled Scoring The End Of The World, the notorious Birmingham gang Peaky Blinders tops off their final season on Netflix and Apple adds an “unsend” option to text messages 10 years too late — all those regrettable dick pics.

Bonnie He joins Just Talking to put pickles in our hands and laughs in our mouth. A Terrible Show For Terrible People @ the Hollywood Fringe Festival, is a show that defines a terrible person as someone who enjoys raunchy, dark, blue comedy. At the Chris Collins Show, that describes our entire staff but we’ve all been under a ton of COVID pressure, surely there’s room to loosen up. Hey Footloose 80’s community, it’s time to evolve, “if you can’t keep up with what the current trends are … be a better comedian.”  Actions speak louder than words, the show is 45 minutes long and there’s only two spoken lines. Don’t let that put you off, Bonnie’s physical comedy Clowning performance goes beyond boring repetitive stand up “talking points”. Can Gen Z’s watch a performance more than 30 seconds long before their Tic-Tok programing sets in? The audience needs to react to what I’m doing, get them involved, bring them on stage and make them part of the indecency. Listen, if you resonate with show’s description, A Terrible Show for Terrible People, you’re gonna like the show. Support and Follow at https://www.instagram.com/abonnielass/

JUST TALKING

What’s more painful? Testicle Tanning or Riding a Bull? Director, Tony Rammos and Pro Bull Rider Lil’ Ricky Ringer Jr join JUST TALKING to discuss their AWARD-WINNING documentary Ride Till I Die. Bull riding is a highly competitive, physically challenging and an extremely dangerous sport. The big question is—WHO has the bigger balls — the bull or the bull rider?  8 seconds is the required time for a bull rider to stay on a bull to receive full points.  Lil’ Ricky Ringer Jr learned a bull riding Jedi trick from his father, Ringer Sr.—slow down buck time and listen for horns! It took about 5 years to produce Ride Till I Die.  Director Tony Rammos decided to create a bull riding documentary because of the deep rooted story about Ricky Ringer Sr. and his son, upcoming star Rick Ringer Jr.  Can you stand the pain of a two-thousand pound bull flipping you in the air like a rag doll? Lil’ Ricky Jr. luckily has had only a “few” injuries—including broken ribs, collapsed lung and a broken shoulder—just an average “Jackass day” for Johnny Knoxville.  Ride Till I Die is entertaining, educational, heartwarming and inspirational.  How do you kill a rodeo clown??? Episode 1114: Andrea Van Landingham, author of Hollywood Horrors: Murders, Scandals, and Cover-Ups from Tinseltown

JUST TALKING

Author, Andrea Van Landingham joins JUST TALKING to discuss her new book: Hollywood Horrors: Murders, Scandals, and Cover-Ups from Tinseltown.  The title is mouth full — hmmmm, that’s how you get past the green room folks.  What makes a Millennial want to write about old Hollywood scandals?  Salacious celebrity affairs have always captured the imagination of fans. Hollywood Horrors… is a collection of naughty adventures, gossip tales and hotel rendezvous—kinda like “the TMZ of dead people.”  American playwright David Mamet joked about writer’s block on REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER — “I can’t afford to have those moments.”  Andrea’s advice, find artistic inspiration, do other things, go into chill mode and keep typing till something clicks. How does one find the time to write a book? — have a “pandemic baby.” From the off screen debauchery of the silent era, to countless dramatic and mysterious deaths, to the sinister past lives of world-famous LA landmarks, vestiges of Hollywood’s checkered past can still be found all over the city. Episode 1114: Alt Indie Rock band Leaving For Arizona

STRIKE A CHORD

Charlotte, North Carolina 5 piece band Leaving For Arizona puts the camera on wide angle to include: Lance Johnson (Vocalist), Jonathan Aviles (Guitarist), Alex Tyner (Guitarist), Aubrey Hollopeter (Drummer), Cameron Gainey (Bassist) on STRIKE A CHORD.  Aubrey has enough Big Boy Energy to keep Will Smith in check—if they get out of hand there’s a drumstick to set things right! The band is still in North Carolina, so why call it Leaving For Arizona? — legend’s say it was over a girl… we’ll never know. Millennials need to learn how to live in the moment. The band's brand new single—AND World PREMIERE: “Number Stationssings out—“stop wishing away those years, enjoy them while you’re here, they’ll be gone before you know so hold on and don’t let go.” What comes first, the chicken or the egg? Or in music terms, the lyrics or the melody?  Leaving for Arizona starts with the melody, then a baseline, then drum-line and by that point the lyrics write themselves — it’s so easy.  “Déjà vu is about “instant chemistry”, a collection of past dating experiences from all the band members.  “Conversations,” the last song on the track, finds yourself reminiscing about past emotions and simple conversations—BUT an open book where you get to create the next chapter. Leaving For Arizona is headed in a new, more purposeful direction and you can hear it on their EP “MISSING OUT.” Follow and Support at: www.leavingforarizona.com

Episode 1113: Let’s Talk Sports with Kevin Drake, MLB OPENING DAY

LET’S TALK SPORTS

Well MLB OPENING DAY is finally upon us with some new notable rules—the universal DH?!  I'm not sure how I feel about that one.  I'll have to see how it goes this season before commenting. However the starting pitcher can remain in the game as a hitter after being pulled from the game. That's great news for Shohei Othani! MLB eliminated the shift. We'll see what transpires out of that change.

Tiger Woods makes his colossal comeback to golf by playing in the Masters. Just to be on the course competing is a major accomplishment in itself. It would ROCK the sports world if he wins it all!!!

The NBA playoffs start next week. It’s really sad to see the Lakers implode. Defense is nonexistent!  The team explains the losing along with AD'S injury woes—however the Suns will win the West. Their final opponent will most likely be the Bucks unless the Nets get it figured out.  Will the Suns get their revenge like the Lakers did in beating the Celtics in the 2010 finals?

Seismic changes in the NFL and trades continue to happen. The Rams showed that teams can win by trading away top future picks for experienced great players—AND win a Super Bowl! Cincinnati has that similar model which has caused a Seismic change in the NFL with more shaking and baking all the way up to the draft. Exciting time of the Sports year!

Mystic Marissa 🔮💫 is here to help you plan your  WEEKLY ASTROLOGICAL SOCIAL CALENDAR for:  March 27th 2022 – April 2nd 2022

Aires is making itself known throughout the cosmos this week! Your rollercoaster ride from last week is continuing, with Aires out to prove it’s the hornist sign in the zodiac, (As a Scorpio this is HIGHLY contested)

Sunday, March 27th: Mercury enters Aries where the communication planet spares no one’s feelings. Bold declarations are being said and lines are being drawn in the sand. If you're not quick to navigate the changing moods, you could find yourself on the wrong end of a verbal firing squad. If you have been wanting to say something to someone, now is the time to do it. But keep in mind that truth under Aires will burn and hurt so try to use tact when baring all.

Monday, March 28th: Venus meets up with Saturn. FINALLY, you can expect your love life to be a lot easier and less dramatic. You can just enjoy your S/O ‘s company, whether you are in a casual Spring fling, or a committed relationship. From here on out, all things including LOVE, MONEY, and HEALTH are flowing with effortless ease. This new sense of freedom will leave you Euphoric and ready to soak in the Springtime festivities that are popping up everywhere.

Friday April 1st: New moon in Aries to set off April Fool’s Day. Even though today is the day of tricksters, you will want to reevaluate what your short-term goals are these next few months. If you find yourself starting to stray away from your goals, now is the time to adjust and get back on track.

A conjunction to the asteroids Chiron and Pallas in Aries speaks to old wounds. Stop carrying around baggage that is holding you back. Either FORGIVE or MOVE ON. Holding on to past grudges are only going to get in your way this year.

Saturday, April 2nd: Mercury meets the sun in Aires and you finally are getting the mental clarity to carry out your plans efficiently. The Winter Brain Fog Syndrome should be lifting, and you will find those extra hours of daylight are really boosting your stamina and drive.

Mercury makes a conjunction with Chiron on the second, forcing you to play the hand that you were dealt. To come to the table, to play, one must be as ready to lose as they are to win.

Find some time to get out into Mother Nature this week to enjoy a sunset and clear your head. There's no use crying over spilt milk, so draw on the Aires mentality of FK It, and keep your head held high and a smile on your face.**

STRIKE A CHORD

4 piece Punk/Garage/Lo-Fi band Deaf Lingo joins STRIKE A CHORD live from Milan, Italy to discuss their upcoming album Lingonberry, dropping on April 29, 2022.  Lead singer Sandro and Gabriele waste no time seducing Marissa with their sexy Italian accents.  Do Italians find American accents sexy?  Punk bands always have the most interesting names but what inspired Deaf Lingo’s band name?—strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry?  What the hell is a Lingonberry? — Italian IKEA has the answer!  Recording studios are costly and when you’re an upcoming Italian Punk band on a budget you’re hungry and ready to rock, so naturally record your album at a pizzeria?!  Their new track “Push It has nothing to do with sliding pizza in an oven and more to do with doing nothing and enjoying it — “why have ambition when you’re going to die!” “Sleeping” has a catchy baseline, an electrifying solo with raw vocals that grab your ears by the lobes — much like a heavy relationship absorbs your attention to the point you can’t see anything else. Grab your gold microphone and rock out to “Friends.”  Just picture Ross, Rachel, Monica, Chandler, Phoebe and Joey jumping on a couch, blasting an air guitar and head banging in a mosh pit! Play video games and earn money?  Well not exactly.  The “money” you earn is in crypto-currency, which explains the disappointment on your fathers face as you look up from the basement!

Kid Rock cancels Cancel Culture because he simply doesn’t give a fuck! While Rapper Boosie BadAzz gets waterboarded over transgender swimmer Lia Thomas.

Are you bored with finding music and need 15 second TikTok song snippets?—try Discz.  Discz is the latest trending music app that fills the music gap by providing the all-important millennial youth demographic with new and old song recommendations — it’s like Spotify meets Tinder.

JUST TALKING

Gen Z Critics Co-Founder Elizabeth 'Betsy' Kim joins JUST TALKING to predict 2022 Oscars.  Oscar season 2022 is here and who grabs the golden trophy for Millennials and Gen Z fans? — CODA—nothing else, just CODA.  You can measure the value of a film by questioning whether it’s worth your money or your time.  Relying on cinematic stereotypes is lazy story telling—nerdy Asians, British villains, German Nazis and uncultured countries.  Why keep remaking movies with Hollywood color-casting?  Why are we letting diversity quotas ruin movies?  Aren’t show runners doing their homework when there’s already established franchise material?  Look at Jake Gyllenhaal as the Prince in The Prince of Persia, Tom Cruise as The Last Samurai and John Cho as Spike Spiegel in Netfix Cowboy Bebop adaptation—this should be a wake-up call! Follow Gen Z critics: https://genzcritics.com/

STRIKE A CHORD

Singer/Songwriter Sophia Marie joins STRIKE A CHORD from Washington D.C. to discuss her debut EP entitled “Foreigner.” When Sophia isn’t recording music she’s at Georgetown University writing papers, supporting her sorority organization and working at an internship—she is busy! Coming from the West Coast to the East Coast can take some adjustment time. West coast people generally have a really chill vibe.  “On the East coast everyone is into consulting, politics and a cut-throat mentality.”  “Foreigner” EP track “Venice Beach to Washington D.C,” is a legally blonde song embracing the challenge of transitioning from one place to the next—finding your own voice and not relying on politicians and celebrity elites to tell you what to believe in!  Sophia’s single “Foreigner” cautions those seduced by romanticism to fall in love with the person, not just the foreign accent. Mystic Marissa 🔮💫 is here to help you plan your  WEEKLY ASTROLOGICAL SOCIAL CALENDAR for:  March 20th 2022 – March 26th 2022

Happy AIRES SEASON! It’s Spring Equinox and the Sun has moved into Aires (The first Zodiac Sign in the Calendar). Be ready to set FIRE to your long-awaited desires!

Sunday, March 20th: Not only is it Spring Equinox but it is also the first day of Aries Season! Be prepared for a high energy month ahead. You will be seeing an influx of requests in your DM’s if single and if you're in a relationship, your nights are about to get a whole lot hotter with Aires insatiable appetite for all things sexy and new.

The moon will be transiting through Scorpio today where it will eventually square off with Mars-Venus in Aquarius. This is the calm before the storm so get prepared for some unavoidable conflicts when they meet.

Tuesday, March 22nd: Today is the day of the showdown between the moon in Scorpio and Mars-Venus in Aquarius which is making a direct opposition to Uranus! Yikes, it's like walking into a room full of your Ex’s with your new Beau and they all happen to be friends. What that means: there are necessary changes and transformations on the horizon you'll no longer be able to avoid. This is especially true when considering Mars's square to erratic Uranus; this explosive transit is just as rebellious as it is volatile. So, take the high road and don’t stoop to their level. ALOT of Breath work will be needed to get through these next few days.

Wednesday, March 23rd: The Moon shifts into Sagittarius (another fire sign) allowing some of the tension to shift. The dust is starting to settle and while you can’t go back on anything you said or did, you can forge ahead with purer and clearer intentions. We all knew the Moon in Scorpio was going to bring fire and brimstone. Just like the Pheonix, out of the ashes something more spectacular will emerge.

Thursday March 24th: Mercury will meet with the Nodes of Destiny today. Expect a message from someone who can bring you closer to the life you want. You should get a clear answer by this weekend on what direction to go.

Saturday, March 26th: Mercury makes a harmonious sextile to Pluto, who is like the last page of a book in a trilogy. Pluto closes one chapter and sets you up for a new (and long awaited) adventure. Whether it's regarding an important contract or a long-overdue conversation, one thing's for sure: the answers you've been seeking are finally coming to light. Since Mercury just came out of Pisces intuitive dream cycle, you already know the answer you will get.

Aires Season is about to get explosive, so buckle up, prepare for the worst, and hope for the best, cause it's going to be a bumpy (yet necessary) ride. Remember May Flowers come after April Showers.

Mystic Marissa 🔮💫 is here to help you plan your  WEEKLY ASTROLOGICAL SOCIAL CALENDAR for:  March 13th 2022 – March 20th 2022

A much-needed reprieve is in store for you this week. After last week's Drama Dodge, you will be going through the week in a sort of blurred, hazy state. Don’t expect to get any clarity on confusing situations, instead just continue going with the flow and use Neptune’s influence to dig into that creative art project or blast some fun music and dance around your house.

Sunday, March 13th: The sun conjoins Neptune bringing a dreamy and surreal feeling to the week. It might feel like you're moving through a state of dreamy euphoria IF you use this energy to focus on creativity and meditation. If you fight against Neptunes influence, you will feel like you are stuck in a BOG with no way out. Take a chill pill, bust out your yoga matt, favorite play list, and allow yourself the freedom to just BE!

Friday, March 18th: Full moon in Virgo breaks up the diffuse Pisces vibes, giving you a peak into the clarity you have been searching for these last few weeks. This full moon is giving you a glimpse at what the future holds, getting you ready for the INTENSE energy of Aires.

This is the last week of Pisces season before we head into FIRE AIRES! Tune into your dreams this final week. The easiest way is to meditate on a situation you want clarity in and when you wake up, write down what you dreamed. After doing this for the full week, reread what you wrote down and you might be shocked to see the answer written down. This will give you the clarity needed to use Aries energy to STRIKE OUT on a new (AND BETTER) path.

Josh Gordon (Smoking Weed, failing multiple drug tests) 6 seasons

Calvin Ridley suspended 1 season for placing bets with Hard Rock Sportsbook App

The suspensions listed may or may not fit the crimes committed. BUT the NFL needs to do a better job of protecting the integrity of this sport! Especially now that they are partnered with FanDuel. The NFL is treading into new waters by partnering up with the FanDuel gambling site now that more States are legalizing gambling. AND Fantasy Sports brought in a whopping $22 billion dollars last year!!! The NFL wants a piece of that pie!

Gambling on one's own sport is a serious offense! Pete Rose was banned for life for gambling on baseball. Pete repeatedly bet on the Reds to win whereas Calvin made some casual bets over 1 weekend. Pete should never hold any job in the MLB—BUT he should be in the HOF! David Ortiz was caught and suspended for using HGH and is in the HOF! MLB has issues to work out.

Did Calvin get the help that he needed when he took his leave from the team? I really hope Calvin Ridley gets the help that he needs and is able to return in 2023. He made a mistake and deserves a 2nd chance. He should chat with Pete Rose and be grateful that he was only suspended for 1 year. Calvin is out $11 million in salary. Ouch! That hurts!

CCS Video Game Contributor HenriK The WrecK joins JUST TALKING to answer the most important video game questions.  What’s more important, playing Video Games or playing with Pussy? — you just need to push the buttons, right?  What type of fluids do Gamers drink to get their game on? — alcohol?  Is that a sports drink or water with a dash of alcohol?  Gaming life is tough, you’re streaming live and you’ve got to blow your nose!  Jack Traven asks—what do you do? WHAT DO YOU DO? Episode 1108: Zacharias Vamvakousis, EyeHarp Developer

The idea for the EyeHarp was born in 2010, when a musician friend of Zacharias Vamvakousis was involved in a serious motorcycle accident, and it was unclear if he would be able to play music ever again. At that time, Zacharías realized that there was no musical instrument accessible for quadriplegic people, and he began developing the Eyeharp. Eyeharp is a social project with the mission of improving the quality of life of people with disabilities through music. EyeHarp is the first musical instrument that allows people with disabilities to learn and play music with gaze or with head movements.

Mystic Marissa 🔮💫 is here to help you plan your  WEEKLY ASTROLOGICAL SOCIAL CALENDAR for:  February 28th – March 6th 2022

The world has seen a lot of turmoil these last few days. Many of us are trying to find the rhyme and reason in the events involving Ukraine and Russia. Uncertainty is in the air and taking the time to turn away from the news for a few hours during the day to center and realign yourself, is a must!

Wednesday, March 2nd: New Moon in Pisces, today’s new moon is all about planting that seed of what you have been manifesting these past few New Moons. Drop a “seed” of introduction or hint to the person who can help make your dreams a reality. It will be well received! But make sure you are planting in the direction your intuition has been steering you towards. LISTEN to it or you will not be happy with the “crop” that you are left with later in the year. Luckily, this New Moon in Pisces will help unveil who and where your “seed” needs to be planted to set your dreams in motion.

This lunation is also activating a super-sweet connection between Jupiter and Uranus, making this a fabulous time to take a risk. This Jupiter-Uranus sextile is RARE and you will not see it again until 2026! Luck happens when opportunity meets preparation, so do not waste this auspicious moment. The New Moon vibe will last throughout the week so keep an eye out for your opportunity!

Thursday, March 3rd: Mars and Venus get coordinated with power-thirsty Pluto in unstoppable Capricorn! This combination can make us try to cut corners or step on people to get what we want. DO NOT fall into this power dynamic! It is just Pluto seeing how far you will go to get your desires, and this planet does not care who gets burned in the process. It is important to be proactive, assertive, and "take charge," yes, but do not compromise your ethics. With power and charisma at peak levels, pour your genuine best into the project that will advance your career and you will see transformational results.

Saturday, March 5th: This lunation also precedes what is known as the luckiest day of the year, as the Sun meets Jupiter, the biggest planet in our solar system. Jupiter is entrenched in Pisces which is its home sign. So be bold, take risks, but do not forget to fight Pluto's tendency to “burn it all down” just to see what happens. Jupiter will deliver whatever result you pour your energy into. I like to think of it as Karma’s Cheerleading squad. Direct your energy toward the positive and proactive as negative thought spirals can plummet you into a state of despair, and it will be hard to pull yourself out. Remember, you Reep what you Sow.

Sunday, March 6th: Venus and Mars move into Aquarius. This is a GREAT day for LOVE! This is their second of two exact conjunctions in 2022, it has been years since they shared a moment like this in the Water Bearer's realm. These love birds are ramping up their energy and platonic friends could end up in your bed tonight! Only move this friendship into the lover zone if you both are open about what you want. If it is just a fling, make sure you both are ok with that as you could lose a friend over your libido urges. If you have a S/O: get a babysitter, clear the Calander, and make the most of Sunday night with each other. This period can spark honest dialogue about the way you envision a happy union.

Use this week to stay focused, open, and honest with what you genuinely want in life. These next few months will shape the next few years for you. So do not waste it on frivolous or trivial matters. Keep your feet on the ground, your head in the clouds, and your heart full of compassion and empathy for those around you.

Episode 1107: Henrick, Video Game Contributor

The Chris Collins Show welcomes our newest CCS Contributor HenriK The WrecK.  Henrik will be dropping the latest Video Game related news, reviews and boos! This week we’re talking about video game TV and film adaptations.  In 2022 alone there are about 40 shows hitting streaming services and theaters between Netflix, Paramount +, Amazon, Sony and HBO Max.  Critics and fans should be dripping in nerd drool—BUT with so many releases suffering from bad casting, bad writing, and poor visuals — are they worth watching?  You know what the millennials say. YOU go WOKE you go BROKE?  Horror and campy action is a marriage made in heaven when you’re playing a video game—BUT even Sony’s Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021) live action movie made flesh eating zombies go vegan???  Playing video games is a lot like smoking the devil’s lettuce—it’s an escape from reality — like weed! There’s an estimated 3.2 billion Gamers across the globe.  What about the next generation consoles and PC’s to meet the demand?  It used to be, insert the cartridge or cd, wait for the loading screen and press A on your controller.  The economics of gaming is more complicated.  There’s MTX (microtransactions), game subscriptions, game passes, seasonal passes and now game NFT’s (Non-Fungible Token).  Game companies love it and Gamers hate it — is this just another cash grab?  With a global chip shortage and not enough next generation PS5’s and Xbox’s to go around, is this the end of the console wars — do the PC’s win?
