Episode 1413: Producer/Director, Bonnie Bruderer INFLUENCER

Just Talking

Binge Network CEO Bonnie Bruderer director of the documentary film Influencer joins JUST TALKING to discuss how millennials made millions of dollars with an iPhone. Social media has created a platform where just about anyone can fashion themselves as an influencer—BUT what does a millennial really know? Are they just a cheaper mouthpiece? Advertising is everything! Without advertising a product can die with the snap of a finger. 24-7 constant branding on social media means also being vulnerable to negative criticism, hurtful insults, lack of privacy and the worst of all trending fates—getting fizzled. Having a huge following is great for the brand but can humans process all these opinions? Influencers VS celebrities. Who do you go with? Who do you trust? Have tech companies created a virtual gladiator stadium and we the audience demand drama on the high court—WAIT are we the problem? Feelings not facts. Can an influencer push a brand for the money and simultaneously be guided by their moral compass? Weaponizing social media as a spying tool has been a hot topic this year. TikTok has been in the spotlight over accusations and potentially could be banned in the USA. Maybe TT needs to hire an influencer? Is social media the new cigarette? The government is proposing bills about child safety, addiction, mental health, screen time, etc.. WARNING: the surgeon general has determined that social media is dangerous to your health—BUT what isn’t these days? With syndication on 300+ smart TV’s there’s more than enough content to binge on.  Watch the Influencer on Tubi: https://tubitv.com/movies/705562/influencer

Episode 1412: ‘thatonecatholicgirl’ Vanessa Forsblad and Music Producer, Steve Ornest

Just Talking

Vanessa Forsblad aka ‘thatonecatholicgirl’ aspiring Catholic apologist joins JUST TALKING on Good Friday to share the goodness. If religion is a relationship with God does that make your boyfriend a “side piece?” Time to change your profile on Christian Mingle to “praying the field.” At 18 most people have no idea what they want to do with themselves, life goals, etc. Vanessa knew early on there were two things she was passionate about, her faith and eating bean and cheese burritos with her grandmother. Religion has provided structure, tradition and values. She loves teaching and sharing, “because I just see the beauty of having something like that in your life.” Do you have to go to church to be spiritual? Millennials and Gen Z feel out of touch speaking about religion. WHY are people so reluctant to talk about their beliefs? Has technology become a new religion? We’re so connected now it should be easier than ever to share your faith. There’s been a decline in religious affiliation with Millennials and Gen Z. BUT is there an uprising on the verge? Apologist Vanessa says young people want the structure back, want a supportive community, an authoritative figure who can provide guidance and spiritual answers —— are we asking for an AI Jesus? Follow your moral compass. Use the search engine inside you and if you get no answers, let’s just pray on it first. Follow, listen and Pray: https://www.thatonecatholicgirl.com

Strike A Chord

Steve Ornest from Total Access Recording Studios joins STRIKE A CHORD to share his story about becoming a world renowned music producer. Lava lamps and keyboard players, it’s the recording studio dream. BUT how did young teenage Steve use his Gibson Les Paul guitar skills to pay the bills and get a new dad named Wyn Davis? Steve earned a degree at the Berklee College of Music in NY where there was fierce competition from eager rivals.  He found a new talent arranging and producing songs setting him apart from just being a guitar player. Hard rock and metal forever —— well, until you get a mortgage and family. “It can take 100 hours or more just on one song. It’s not just about making it sound good, it’s about making you feel something, capturing lightning in a bottle can take time.”  What are Producer Steve’s pet peeves? 1st more cowbell — a SNL Blue Oyster Cult sketch reference (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVsQLlk-T0s). 2nd I want to sound like this artist! This business is a team effort. You have to develop your brand. There’s writers, producers, agents, managers, etc.. Let’s do YOU and make the best version of what YOU are already doing. Produce that next album at Total Access Recording Studioshttps://www.tarecording.com

JUST TALKING

Game contributor HenricK The WrecK and Ubisoft Community Development Director, Dan Mitre log into JUST TALKING to smash their video game controllers on the floor frustrated with gaming politics! They're just one life-heart away from the final stage and with 10% energy left can they beat the final boss? In gaming news the U.S. government wants to ban social media giant TikTok because they have concerns over China spying on Americans. Meanwhile Apple Siri, Microsoft Cortana, Google Home and Amazon Echo say— “don’t panic, we hear your concerns." The 2023 BAFTA (British Academy Games Awards) are coming up and why should we care? We don’t BUT let’s press start anyway. Which games do our esteemed panel of gamers nominate? God of War is the Beyonce of awards—multiple nominations but hasn’t sealed the deal. Will Elden Ring take home the gold? Totally Turtles dude! It’s a sleeper hit on the Nintendo Switch. It’s heavy on the cheese but can it deliver the “za” in 30 minutes or less? Voice Acting is getting the recognition it deserves but the competition is tight. Which VO performer takes the trophy in a video game leading role? The best games in 2023 are from 15 years ago! How does the video game industry justify serving stale bread to the fans? Is the nostalgic factor worth the price of entertainment — is there an appetite for these old moldy games? Don’t touch it, there are masterpieces in our world that need to be left alone. The Olympic Esports competition will take place in Singapore with games like Just Dance and Tennis Clash while snubbing established tournament franchises like Call of Duty and League of Legends. Gamers say the Olympics are playing it too safe and need to include headshots. Can we uncheck the parental controls—BUT the E in Esports stands for everyone! Even hockey players clean up their act for the Olympic Games! https://www.chriscollinsshow.com/henrick-the-wreck

STRIKE A CHORD

Vocalist/guitarist Dan Mitre joins STRIKE A CHORD to discuss his Punk Rock trio band Distortions. Rocking out of Raleigh, North Carolina the band has deep roots in the punk rock scene, the trio quickly established a fan base and position in the music community. Distortions is well known for crazy guitar riffs and an unwavering desire to perform live on stage. Rumor has it, this is how the band survives without food or water—feeding off the communal energy of the crowd. But how did former Bear vs Shark bassist Nick Jones and former Blitzkid drummer Andrew Winter link up with Dan Mitre to form Distortions? Music is medicine for the soul. The trio brings passion and emotion to every track but Mitre admits "you don’t really know until you see us live on stage." Their latest EP “Flies” addresses some heavy themes. “We’re all battling some form of depression, the demons ripping at our chest but there’s hope at the end of the day, we can persevere and we can endure and there is a reason to continue forward.” Community is vital to Distortions. We need to be human. You can’t spend every day pretending to be Superman. REACH OUT to people that love you, don’t be afraid. That commitment to community also created a record label, Bored to Death Records. Dan’s DIY punk rock campaign to offer a platform for independent artists without the pressure and politics of a large music label. Singles or Albums has been an on-going argument on the show BUT which side does Distortions go sideways with? The trio is a force of nature and their latest single “Castaways” is as punk as it gets. We’re all just “whimsy hypnosis charming castaways on punk rock island. Follow, listen and Support: https://distortionsband.com

Episode 1409: All The World Is Sleeping, Writer/Director Ryan Lacen and Denver Pop Punk Kings Bury Mia

JUST TALKING

Writer/Director Ryan Lacen joins JUST TALKING to discuss his latest film All the World is Sleeping. Inspired by real life experiences the film is about “survival, making it in a world that doesn’t go easy on you; following a mother struggling with addiction while also trying to surface for her daughter.” All the World is Sleeping asks the audience to put themselves in someone else’s shoes instead of simply judging. “Let’s pull that curtain back and see what experiences they’ve been through… let’s see their life.” All films have obstacles and up-hill challenges. BUT how did 7 women and their stories shape the voice of justice in this film? Addiction is a heavy subject. Like Ryan many families have experienced some level of addiction that deeply affects family relationships, friends and co-workers. What can we do to help and support? A film of this caliber needs to be authentic. Ryan brought the 7 women on set as consultants to evaluate and provide guidance on this production. The results are immediately felt during the film. There’s a new perspective with an emotional connection for the audience to find empathy in the story and create a conversation walking out of the theatre. STRIKE A CHORD

Denver Colorado Pop Punk Kings Bury Mia joins STRIKE A CHORD to thrash out their latest single “We've Been Trying to Reach You About Your Car's Extended Warranty.” Reinventing Pop Punk is their mission. That’s a big ask. So how is Bury Mia going to do this? “We’re super inspired by the early 2000’s bands. Taking Back Sunday, Blink 182… we’re trying to reprocess and make something new.” Bury Mia is tired of being stuck “inside.” They crave to reach out.  What’s the message Bury Mia wants to share? “Reach out to people, they’re having a hard time… not everyone is living perfect … reach out, they would appreciate the text message, just talking, a phone call… just checking on your friend's man. It turns out Millennials hate voicemail but love social media for connecting—BUT it’s not the most therapeutic method. However, if you can’t afford therapy, then the next best thing is to download “We've Been Trying to Reach You About Your Car's Extended Warranty” by Bury Mia. Episode 1408: Oscar Time, Gen Z Film Critic Julio Ramirez and Louis-Charles Berthiaume, Dead Alright

JUST TALKING

You remember Will Smith’s slap heard around the world that knocked his wife’s name out of Chris Rock’s mouth! It's time to slap some sense into this year’s Oscar predictions. Gen-Z film critic Julio Ramirez joins JUST TALKING to talk 95th Oscar Awards. Let’s go to the movies! The cinema needs our support. We all need time to get away from a sink full of dishes, piles of smelly unwashed clothes and neglected responsibilities. It’s time to immerse ourselves in a world of disbelief, overpriced snacks and sticky floors. We need a break away from reality! Watch the Oscars on Sunday March 12 2023 at 5pm on ABC, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Last year we got a slap. This year hopefully someone will get kicked in the crotch—which is slightly less painful than kung fu dildo movie Everything Everywhere All at Once winning EVERY Category EVERY Nomination all because… Why?

STRIKE A CHORD

Louis-Charles Berthiaume (LC) was delivered DOA (Dead On Arrival) but somehow revived himself long enough to join STRIKE A CHORD. LC discusses his solo project Dead Alright—is it a blessing or a curse to produce an album in isolation? LC is the front man for Brand New Lungs and Never Hit Again but during the pandemic decided to explore creating music going commando—zero bandmates and opinions, freedom to explore—but mostly no pants! Dead Alright is a unique band name. If you have a cool band name you need cool artwork to go with it. The undead vibe started with looking like tortilla man from Slip Knot with a touch of Halloween. But how did this franken-zombie become the band's mascot? The band's debut single “Smoke and Mirrors” is a hardcore punk rock banger. The song is about being stuck in the past, rehashing old stories rather than going out and creating new memories. We’re looking forward to memorizing each new single until the album is released. Follow, support and listen: https://bfan.link/smoke-mirrors

Episode 1407: HenricK The WrecK

HenricK The WrecK joins Just Talking to discuss Rage Quit a new video game podcast talk show hosted by Chris Collins and our video game contributor, HenricK The Wreck. A good game gives you chills of excitement when you play but a kick ass game can terrorize you to the core, what game terrorizes you? What’s the cruelest thing you can do to a kid gamer? Take their game system away for poor grades, time out punishment for not doing chores, how about your parents yanking the cord during a boss fight! Game rage meltdown; what game has driven you to the point smashing your controller? Hooked on gaming; a gamers first system is their true love. Henrick started his love affair with the Nintendo 64 and it’s been a match made in heaven since. When Kid Icarus shot a game pad arrow into your hands, what was your first game system love? Top 3 favorite games of all time; was it the storyline, combat and action or the challenge — kiss my ass Galaga, you cheating bastard! Can millennials all admit their first driving lesson was either Grand Theft Auto or Mario Kart. This absolutely explains Marissa’s driving style! Calling out all the future professional gamers, the Olympics will have Esports competitions in the future; so we’re just playing Wii Sports on a big ass screen in the middle of a stadium now? Can The Last Of Us tv show be enough to save the tarnished reputation of bad video game adaptations? We’re looking at you Halo tv series but TLOU is starting to go down that familiar Walking Dead rabbit hole and it’s only episode 7; for now, let’s reserve the rage spores until the last episode. Do all video games work in the cinematic universe? Bloom House and Atomic Monster are working on film adaption of the video game Dead By Daylight, a multiplayer action survival horror game where you get to play as famous iconic movie, tv, novel and video game killers like Halloween’s Michael Myers, Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Kruger and Resident Evil’s Nemesis. We’re excited to see where this goes but didn’t Dark Castle Entertainment try this before, remember 13 Ghosts? Well, virtual reality doesn’t matter anyway, I’m back in the Matrix. Chat GPT Artificial Intelligence is being shoved into video games to make them emotive and impactful. Did you hear that voice over artists, an AI says you can’t voice act. Episode 1406: Welsh Rockers, THE NOW

4-piece motley crew THE NOW from South Wales joins STRIKE A CHORD to release the Devil Inside. When Elvis got on stage in the 1950's and shook his money maker the girls went wild but the critics went wilder. They said with moves like Jagger society as we know it would be destroyed and the gates of hell would open up and swallow all of us. However, after a quick satanic ritual from Sam Smith the WiFi started working and we opened the show—because everyone knows you have to wear a thong to get into Hell. Sex, drugs and Rock ’n’ Roll is the go-to counter culture sacrament but THE NOW is a movement not a judgement. A safe space to bridge those barriers. So, how does THE NOW deal with detractors saying your singing and dancing your way to hell? The lads admit to dancing topless and praising co-host Marissa for more sales. We’ll see how this goes but the ladies love it. Breaking Band? There’s a new debut LP about to drop. How many physical and mental obstacles does it take for Oli Jacobs to produce a full album? Each song has its own individual character. There’s more to the band than a quiet verse and big chorus. The gates are open at Chris Collins Show. Follow THE NOW support and listen: https://www.instagram.com/thenowuk

Episode 1405: Brooklyn Indie/Emo Trio, Wakelee

Brooklyn Emo band Wakelee joins STRIKE A CHORD to discuss their upcoming self-titled album, Wakelee. We all saw it and we need to address it. What happened to Rihanna’s Super Bowl 2023 HalfTime show? The performance was lackluster at best. BUT what did Howard Stern say that has everyone getting their twitter accounts cancelled—Wakelee has some sage advice for live performances! Alex (vocals/guitar) and David (drums) are identical twins and the triplet that went wrong is Elliot (vocals/bass)—so how do some Jersey bros link up with an Oregon player? This is a first!  Urban Dictionary doesn’t have a definition for Wakelee.  BUT it’s the perfect opportunity for the band to provide a backstory on how they named their band—although it’s the last place you would expect. The feeling of not knowing how to feel after something bad happens is spot on for Wakelee’s single “Mood Rings.” Sometimes we can be a "tin can"—having difficulty processing emotions and expressing feelings is confusing. Should I be angry, sad, mad, happy or glad. Is that profound enough or am I in Oz? Having an identical twin has some advantages. There’s a world of possibilities where we can swap roles at any time. BUT does that work with relationships? Enoughs, enough! Time to get this album out and we can’t wait to hear what Wakelee delivers.  Follow, support and listen: https://www.wakeleemusic.com

Let’s start with Super Bowl, The two best teams for most of the NFL season, this will be a battle between more than just two top teams. It will be a matchup of two top quarterbacks and two of the best at their positions in Jason Kelce for the Eagles and Travis Kelce for the Chiefs – Philadelphia Eagles.com. LeBron James has done it. Plus so much more!

STRIKE A CHORD

Los Angeles Rockers Londynne’s Falling joins STRIKE A CHORD to discuss their new single “911.”  It’s always interesting to hear a band's origin story. How did it begin? Who likes cake and ice cream? AND as long as we’re in a pandemic isolated from society let’s form a band! “911” instantly gives you Fail Out Boy vibes. The music video takes you back to high school teen angst, finding yourself, getting frustrated when definition doesn’t match description. Lead singer Londynne hints there’s a full album waiting for release—BUT why hold back? Is this a rock band fetish to get song fans desperate for another track? OR do fans want to be tickled, teased, given dribbles of singles rather than albums? To AI or not to AI? That is the song writer’s question! Artificial Intelligence (AI) is here to stay. However, just because an AI can write a song doesn’t mean we should let an AI write a song. Are we scared the AI will do a better job? Guitarist Jacobi.e says, “isn’t this just using a thesaurus to write a chorus?” If you get into trouble, CALL 911—BUT if you’re looking for a new millennial pop rock band CALL Londynne’s Falling. Episode 1402: The Stalking Fields, Writer/Actor/Co-Producer Sean Crampton

Episode 1402: The Stalking Fields, Writer/Actor/Co-Producer Sean Crampton

Let’s get IT! CCS Season 14 has begun!  Writer/Actor Sean Crampton joins JUST TALKING to discuss his new action thriller, The Stalking Fields. A film about a group of civilians who find themselves trapped in a PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) training program. What starts off as a reasonable therapeutic exercise turns into a dark government experiment gone out of control. A mix of screaming pauses throughout this film openly question your morality — when is it right? What is wrong? “Everyone carries PTSD in certain ways.” Crampton’s father was a decorated Navy Seal for 27 years — you couldn’t throw a rock and not hit a military family! A picturesque example of the modern nuclear family prompted Crampton to take a deeper look into the American Dream. But it was Hollywood’s hyper-glamorized portrayal of combat that really fueled this film in a different direction to provide answers. HOW do we adequately address the reality of coming back home? Crampton’s father, Cramton Sr. served 13 deployments for his country. According to the 2022 National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans are at 57% higher risk of suicide than those who haven't served. What about retirement? How do we treat our Veterans during the transition? Can new technologies like Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) provide beneficial therapy? In the writer’s room Sean Crampton and Jordan Wiseley both grew up in military families and director Ric Maddox, an army veteran, teamed up to make this thriller film. All three drew on their personal experiences to make this film as visceral as possible. The audience is definitely going to face a decision on which side they are willing to stalk for. A lot of bands have been dropping tracks about mental health issues—BUT what about the existential crisis of being? Demi the Daredevil has a solution! Create a safe creepy place, talk about your weird life and not have any judgement.” Touring is the bread and butter of any band. Demi the Daredevil was on tour with Tiktok’s TX2 blasting through Texas—BUT how did this handsome devil end up in a Van Full Of Nuns traveling together? We all have a wild side that’s best suppressed under heavy medication OR can a daredevil come out on stage? “The Martyrs Crown” is a rock banger with a deep question. What is God and the purpose of religion? Is life your own purgatory? We start in purgatory and we have to fight our way out. How do we do that? What are these laws of life we need to follow?”  There’s been an ongoing debate about releasing singles or a full album — and just like that we’re back in music purgatory! Veteran Music Industry Executive and D.VERSE Media CEO, Benny Pough joins JUST TALKING to share his story about ON IMPACT: Life, Leadership, and Betting on Yourself. “GRINDING, GRINDING, GRINDING!” Benny’s been in the game for over 30 years—what’s changed? The title of his book ON IMPACT has a double meaning. It took a near death experience — you’ve got to hear this story. While recovering Benny developed the acronym IMPACT (Intuition, Mastery, Pivot, Authenticity, Connection and Teamwork), a journey from an 11 year old paperboy to current day CEO. We all start somewhere. Looking for an opportunity. Benny found his moment as a young standup comedian—BUT what’s more interesting is how not telling jokes catapulted his career. Benny has worked at Motown Records, Perspective Records (Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis), Arista Records, MCA Records and Def Jam Records — are there any record companies left? Love or hate it, it’s that time of the year. Christmas is around the corner and thanks to Benny one artist dropped a Christmas song that will be played to the end of time. Time to Pivot! Benny shares his experience leaving Def Jam to become the president at Roc Nation—" it was a natural fit, it was great, had some really big success—it was time to take a chance.” ON IMPACT is about Betting on Yourself.  Radio’s not dead. It still has value. BUT how do today’s upcoming artists survive the streaming wars and social media demand? Keep in mind Taylor Swift sold millions of vinyl records—BUT who has a record player anymore?! “You’re not going to be IT today but definitely going to be IT tomorrow.” Young artists look for the opportunity to sell your artistry — it’s all part of the GRIND! Love, share and follow: https://www.bennypough.com

London Rock guitarist Niro Knox joins STRIKE A CHORD to discuss his upcoming album release. Niro’s been playing in rock bands since Slash has been shredding Guns N’ Roses; King Lizard, KilliT and Holloway Hell. Niro is now stepping front and center with his own LP. Spilling tea, sipping tea and just plain old tea time, Niro originally from Israel moved to London 19 years ago and found his guitar pick in the local rock scene. Inspired by rock legends of the time, it was natural to resonate with being a kick ass guitarist. Later Niro found a disconnect between music and songs—what does that mean? Niro worked with Rasmus Bon Andersen (Diamond Head) to prepare as lead singer on this new album—BUT how did a cheeky t-shirt link up the two artists? Record label or self-publish? Niro made a conscious decision to produce this album on his own—BUT why not join a record label for the extra support? What does it really cost to produce a track at a studio like Abbey Road or Fiction? Niro started a Kickstarter campaign to help fund this album. Listen to the demos. It’s time to have a cuppa and ROCK! Support this kick ass artist: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/niroknox/debut-album-21

WEEKLY ASTROLOGICAL SOCIAL CALENDAR for: December 4th 2022 to December 11th 2022

SLIDE 2

Hopefully you came out of this weekend feeling energized and recharged cause this week is going to test your patience.

Pull out those self-help books on centering and breath work and remember that trials and tribulations are put into your life so that you can grow and become a deeper more philosophical human. It’s not all doom and gloom this week as the planets are pushing you into materializing your desired purpose and goals.

SLIDE 3

Tuesday, December 6th: Mercury in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Pisces square off expanding our intellectual pursuits and philosophies.

The easiest way to reach your goals is to break it up into small actions. Plan, strategize, and negotiate your way to the finish line! Journaling at night also helps to break up the clutter from the day, helping you to plan out the next day's course of action.

SLIDE 4

12/6 - The sun in Sagittarius opposes Mars retrograde in Gemini, making us extremely defensive and argumentative. Set emotions aside and think through goals with objectivity and precision. Don’t let that negative influence in your life steer you away from your passion. Take the high road and walk away, you don’t have to justify your actions.

 SLIDE 5

Wednesday, December 7th: The full moon in Gemini allows us to explore our interests and paths in life. Words are powerful attractors under the light of the full moon in Gemini.

What you say is what you get, so articulate your dreams, desires and wishes aloud. Post about them on social media, to the degree you feel comfortable. Someone in your circle (or a degree of separation away) could point you toward important resources that help you manifest your vision. Geminis influence is always best in pairs, a creative duo could manifest from this energy. Having an accountability partner is the easiest way to stay on track plus it helps to have someone you trust to use as a sounding board for your ideas.

SLIDE 6

Friday, December 9th: Venus shifts into Capricorn and squares against Jupiter. Both planets have a strict “no negative vibes” policy, but rocking the rose-colored glasses puts you in a gullible position.

To avoid being a victim of this “hustler’s holiday,” take nothing at face value. Do your due diligence and research prospective opportunities. Don‘t be afraid to ask tough questions. If they are legit enterprises, then the information will be conveyed easily.

SLIDE 7

Saturday, December 10th: This weekend will see you having heart-to-heart talks with your significant other/situationship.

A pinch of honesty is all that’s needed to get your point across. Biting your tongue altogether may prove impossible under this lunar lift, so don’t suppress yourself or things may come out sideways. If you just can't help but approach THAT subject, start the discussion with an open-ended question. Listening is part of healthy communication. Use tact to get your point across.

SLIDE 8

Be prepared this week to go after your goals while navigating the holiday hustle and bustle. Someone in your circle will be able to help you in your enterprises but make sure you still research on your own and don't take someone's word for it.

Find your center of calm this week so you can avoid unnecessary drama and fights because of Mars energy. Stay calm and carry on, as the English like to say.

Episode 1309: CONCEPTION Director Tarun Verma, Actress Simren Lalani and Connecticut Rock Band, American Thrills

JUST TALKING

Director/Writer/Cape Crusader Tarun Verma and Actress Simren Lalani join JUST TALKING to discuss their film CONCEPTION. The film hits on a number of sensitive issues when it comes to starting a family. According to experts the fertility rate is declining worldwide for a number of reasons directly affecting Millennials. “Making babies is the fun part, until you realize you just can’t have any. How far will you go to have a baby?” Tarun’s personal life as a fertility pharmacist inspired him to write this drama. BUT what motivated a comedy writer to produce such an emotional story? When getting pregnant doesn’t happen naturally or by accident, what’s the alternative? Infertility is a dirty secret no one wants to talk about. The cost of IV (In Vitro Fertilization) can hit six figures, plus the physical procedures and emotional strain on the couple. When it happens, it’s an absolute blessing but who delivers the bad news? Is there anything wrong with a 2-person millennial family? Actress Simren Lalani opens up about her family choice. What if you want to live the Bill Maher life, bachelor till you’re 50? Millennials, we need to talk about having children! Watch and support: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13680670

Strike A Chord

Connecticut's Rock Band American Thrills joins STRIKE A CHORD and it’s like a Bald Eagle knocking back a 30 rack of Budweiser sitting on a throne of glorious red, white and blue! It’s a patriotic band name or is it? Every band needs a hook, something to grab the audience's attention and separate them from the herd. American Thrills went with “New Country”—BUT what does that even mean? Is this like Jonathan Davis or Chad Grey from Mudvayne? New Country and Rock genres are you saying Hank The Third? We’re all inspired by something. “This was kinda our upbringingLimp Biscuit and DeftonesIt was MTV and that was a very influential time for us as young musicians.” Is Punk Rock even Punk Rock anymore? 20 years ago you'd think of the Descendents. Parted Ways is American Thrills debut LP. How was this release different from the EP “Old Things?” Bassist, Jamie Otfinoski breaks down their production process. “Misfires” is classic upbeat rock anthem, heavy guitars, loud drums and shouting lyrics, combine them all and you got a kick ass track. How are small bands competing with rising gas prices, dynamic venue ticket pricing and streaming services? “Old Things” is another track you easily fall in love with. It’s about getting older, enjoying old friends and the nostalgia of past years. American Thrills is releasing a limited edition vinyl record and a music video to celebrate Parted Ways and we can’t wait to enjoy it! Watch, Listen and Follow: https://www.americanthrills.com

WEEKLY ASTROLOGICAL SOCIAL CALENDAR for: November 28th 2022 to December 4th 2022

SLIDE 2

Prepare for an emotionally charged week ahead. Whether it is dealing with the fallout of Thanksgiving drama or just short tempers with the realization that money is tighter than usual, it's going to be a doozy of a week.

SLIDE 3

Monday, November 28th: Mars retrograde in Gemini and Saturn in Aquarius harmonize, creating a dominant atmosphere in relationships that urges us to take control of matters.

If you have been feeling like someone's floor mat, you will finally start standing up to your aggressor. Boundaries are a MUST during the holiday season. Don’t be afraid to finally voice your opinion. Just do it in a way that minimizes emotional drama. Come at the problem with a cool and calm mindset.

SLIDE 4

Tuesday, November 29th: Mercury in Sagittarius opposes Mars retrograde while aspecting Saturn, which can lead to tremendous fights.

Same advice as on Monday, watch your temper and be prepared to walk away from a losing battle. Sometimes, it is healthier to acknowledge someone will not change and to make alternate arrangements in our life that help us avoid toxicity. Take care to step back from having to win the battle in order to prevent fallout.

SLIDE 6

Thursday, December 1st: Mercury squares Neptune retrograde in Pisces, mending the drama from earlier in the week.

Throw up the white flag and look for opportunities to mend the relationship. If someone wants to apologize to you, allow them to speak before deciding if you want to completely cut them out of your life. If the apology is insincere, then you know you are on the right path to eliminate /limit your association with them.

SLIDE 6

12/1- The same day, Venus opposes Mars retrograde and connects with Saturn, offering a fresh start within partnerships. Now is the time to start that project you have been mulling over. The right team will present itself to you and allow you to take the easy step forward in your new venture.

SLIDE 6

Saturday, December 3rd: Neptune turns direct in Pisces, ending the backwards journey that began on June 28th.

Now that you’ve woken up from the dream and seen the truth, it’s time to proceed with open eyes and hearts. 2023 is going to be chockfull of opportunities to advance your creative endeavors. With Neptune turning direct in its own sign, your dreams are closer than ever so act on them while the momentum is in your favor!

SLIDE 7

Hang in there this week! You just need to get past the first half of the week with your sanity in tack.

The weekend allows you to finally start putting 2022’s disaster in the dust as you focus on a happier and more fruitful 2023! Keep setting your boundaries and reach for the stars with your dreams. 2022 isn’t over yet so get those plans into motion so that you can end the year on a positive note.

Tis the season to drink, eat, and be merry! Halloween kicks off the Fall social scene but it isn’t until Thanksgiving week that we really feel the pressure to mingle and be merry (Whether we want to or not).

SLIDE 4

Philosophical Jupiter in Pisces illuminates' life-changing lessons and passes out shiny gold stars to everyone who is willing to do the tough inner work. ‘Tis the season for artists, musicians, and creatives to flourish. More than ever, try to buy from local artists and creatives to fulfill wish lists. Jupiter smiles kindly towards people who support the arts. Plus, your gifts come across more personal than the typical Starbucks or Amazon gift card.

 SLIDE 6

Thursday. November 24th: Is it time to mend fences?

With Jupiter doing its about-face in Pisces, the sign of compassion and forgiveness, you might squeeze in a heart-to-heart during Thanksgiving. If you’ve been fighting the demons of denial, discouragement, and a depressing point of view, hope resumes with the end of the retrograde. Stay in the healing process and continue to lead with empathy and forgiveness.

SLIDE 7

While the holidays seem like they are all about the consumerist lifestyle, try to remember why we celebrate them in the first place.

Holidays are meant to bring together communities, friends, and families through mutual love and respect. If you are struggling with this concept, just watch A Christmas Carol. “Reflect upon your present blessings—of which every man has many—not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.” Charles Dickens.

JUST TALKING

CCS Video Game Contributor, HenricK The WrecK joins JUST TALKING rockin’ new stylish glasses to keep Metaverse in focus. For all you video game fans let’s start off with a video game quiz. Who is Mario’s cousin from deep south state Tennessee? As 2022 retires the blinking red light on your xbox it’s time for the Video Game Awards Game of the Year 2022. Heavyweight competitors Elden Ring and God Of War Ragnarok go toe to toe while lightweight kitty simulator Stray knocks your controller off the table. Adapting video games into movies has always been a thing since Angelina Jolie motorboated her rack into Tomb Raider. GOTY 2022 now has the Best Adaption category—BUT which nominee will take it—Arcane: League of Legends, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, The Cuphead Show, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 or Uncharted? WAIT WHAT? There’s no Best Horror game category? Clearly the GOTY committee has dropped their controllers on this one. Video Game competition is the Meta OlympicsZuckerberg has been heavily criticized for an uninspired Metaverse experience but who’s stepping up to challenge him? Strike A Chord

AUSTIN based Bedroom POP duo Solo Solo joins STRIKE A CHORD to discuss their sibling album Pure Graffiti. Greg and John get the show running on the quantum universe road that connects galaxy to galaxy, so what’s the deal with the band’s name Solo Solo? Maybe Hans Solo had some kids we didn’t hear about? Sibling bands are either a hit or a miss. Bands like Oasis, ACDC, Kings of Leon or Radio Head all include kindred band members and family drama, so how does Solo Solo struggle to keep it together? Ticketmaster recently apologized for its ticket debacle with Taylor Swift but responds by saying “it’s in the artists best interest.” So if fans can’t get tickets how does that affect up-and-coming bands like Solo Solo? It takes just one friend to make a solo audience? Who are your idols? Inspired by Nick Drake, known for his one to two minute tracks, we did a song a week for like 20 weeks. The band’s “No Sleep”—“is sort of a short song you want to listen to again.” “At the end of the day the only thing that matters is what comes out of the speakers.” The brothers needed a little help settling on the EP’s name. Chris and Marissa immediately were on board to help.  We came up with its Solo by Solo Solo. We’ll find out what the EP’s official title is later. Listen and Support these Bros: https://www.solosoloband.com/
